Joseph Douglas Homes Participates in Building Trades Career Days: Students Will Tour the 2018 Parade of Homes Sites to Learn About Trade Careers
Menomonee Falls, WI, April 23, 2018 – Joseph Douglas Homes is honored to help educate various students from 13 area high schools who are interested in learning more about the building trades. On Friday, April 27 at Lake Country Village in Summit, WI and, Friday, May 4 at Hidden Hills in Sussex, students will learn about the industry and their career options by touring job sites and speaking to contractors and employees.
The Building Trades Career Days are hosted by the Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA) and will take place at two of the three subdivisions in the upcoming 2018 Parade of Homes. Along with other builders, Joseph Douglas Homes hopes to give students and teachers an inside look at the new home construction process and pique their interest in career opportunities they may not have thought about before. Because there is a shortage of skilled labor in the trades, this tour may open doors for many of the students.
“It’s important that we help our kids know what their options are after they graduate,” said Deron Butler, Founder of Joseph Douglas Homes. “Too many teenagers think they have to go to an expensive 4-year college; but skilled trades, like carpentry and plumbing, can be extremely fulfilling and well paying. We’d like to encourage them to explore other possibilities.”
Founded in 1998, Joseph Douglas Homes has been chosen as one of the best home builders in the Greater Milwaukee area with an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. They can bring a client’s vision to life with beautiful design, quality craftsmanship, and excellent prices. A dream home will become a reality after an enjoyable home building experience.
“We are proud to be part of such a great community and getting involved is our way of giving back,” adds Mr. Butler.
From Saturday, August 11 through Labor Day, September 3, 2018, the 2018 MBA Parade of Homes makes its run. Held in three subdivisions – Hidden Hills in Sussex, Lily Crossing in Brookfield, and Lake Country Village in Summit, the Parade will feature 22 new homes from 20 of southeastern Wisconsin home builders.
