Project Description:

While this homeowner wanted to finish their basement for a long time, the stairs ended right at the furnace and there was not adequate landing space. This was addressed by putting a landing and reworking he beautiful handrail system to have a turn out at the bottom. Once this hurdle was crossed, we were able to add a rec room, area for pool table, bar, and office.

This lower level had already been very nicely finished but was very compartmentalized. To open in up a walls were removed and wood floors were installed to unify the space. In the corner, steel support posts were hidden in the bar island which capped off the new bar installation.

Type of Remodel: Addition

Project Description:

This home has Lake Michigan views out the front but the low ceiling lines, short windows, and fake fireplace did not allow take full advantage of the million dollar view. The family room was torn down to the deck and rebuilt with a room with cathedral ceilings and lots of glass. Upstairs windows and doors were relocated to enhance their view as well.
